So... It has been a long time since I updated my blog. These days I am somewhat overwhelmed with my engineering job and trying to pursue acting on top of it. Add on top myspace/facebook/email (I'm terrible at responding to people... sorry), trying to have a social life so I don't go crazy, taking classes, fixing tires, etc... and I guess I just let the blog go by the way side. But things have been going well in the acting world in the 9 months since I updated this thing. I've had to take care of business so that I can survive out here, but I've never let my passion for acting slip away and have kept persevering.
A couple of things that have happened have included:
- auditioned for "Men Who Stare at Goats" which stars George Clooney, Ewan McGregor and a lot of other great actors. I was called in by a casting director that saw me perform 2 years prior and that had pulled out my headshot/resume from her files. I auditioned for 3 supporting roles which ended up going to some bigger name actors, but it was a compliment to just be given the opportunity to audition.
-auditioned for a guest star role on "Cold Case" (they ended up rewriting the script and making the character 45; at least I don't look like I'm in my 40s yet...) and a costar role on Criminal Minds. Got both auditions from CDs that saw me perform in the workshops.
-shot a commercial that is a joint venture between the Wii and the Biggest Loser. There's going to be a Biggest Loser game for the Wii, and they said this commercial would be playing during commercial breaks of the show at the end of the next season. I also got called back a 2 weeks later to shoot some pick-up scenes out at the Biggest Loser ranch where they shoot the show. And I saw a ton of the Biggest Losers. Their gym is phenomenal by the way, and I can't imagine a better place to lose weight than out at that ranch. Peaceful, tranquil, mountainous, a pond, lots of trees... The Biggest Losers I saw were for the next season's show and were all real friendly and waving and smiling. Freaked me out a little bit b/c I'm not used to people being so friendly.
- I'll be shooting my first feature film in LA in about a week. It's called "The Hog" and is a comedic horror film. Check out the film's website at http://www.thehogmovie.com. I have a small role as a security guard that has a very close encounter with the title character.
- I now have a new manager: Tiger Bay Entertainment.
- I just had my second meeting with The Michael Zanuck Agency and Mr. Zanuck wants to represent me commercially.
So things are going well and I have a lot to look forward to. Now, if I could just sleep more... I will try to update more in the future and thanks for stopping by!
